Endeavours

Endeavours are basically missions. You haven't done any yet but here are the ones you've been given.

Hax's Tithe Collection

As part of the condition of receiving your warrant of trade, Lord Calixis himself, Governor Hax has ordered you to travel to three worlds within the Koronus expanse and find out why they haven't payed their imperial tithe recently. The worlds are as follows.

Normans World

A large richly forested moon orbitting  a gas giant. Settled some five centuries ago by the Winterscale dynasty of rogue traders it maintains several cities and a population around the 100 million mark. It pays its tithe in lumber and minerals extracted from a few large mines. It hasn't paid its tithe now for close to a century.

Update:

You arrived at Normans World to find the cities hidden beneath the foliage. You did find a few clearings with villages in them, the villages were protected by pallisades and thick gates. The village you landed at seemed the biggest but when you shuttled down it was deserted. Exploring the village it seemed as if the population had left recently leaving behind many of their belongings. Your troops outside the village were attacked by a group of hideous beasts who rapidly killed them. When you moved up to attacked them they threw themselves at you and killed a few more troopers, injured Havok and maimed Helsen. You were fighting them off when a group of 15 men wearing chainmail and carrying axes charged from the woods and finished the beasts off. Their leader introduced himself as Sanguinis Sharpmind and led the companions back to his village (although Helsen deamed himself too injured to continue and flew back to the Thors Redemption and its expert apothecarium.

Sanguinis introduced you to the village elders who told you about the sorcerous transformation of the traitors on this world and the plight of the loyal 600,000 citizens that remain. He offered to pay the tithe and more in lumber and maybe rare ores if you bought him weapons, medicine an prefabricated fortifications.

You agreed, even being kind enough to not claim any profit from the venture (in space Helsen feels a disturbance in the force). Heading back to Footfall to acquire the goods it is clear you have neither clout nor resources to get enough of the goods. Your factor there arranges a meeting with another powerful rogue trader, Solomon Haarlock, who agrees to enter into a trade partnership with you. He will supply the goods and you will do the actual trade. In return he gets a cut of all profits that you take off Normans World for the next century.

Chorda's Rest

A small, lightly settled world, Chora'd Rest has 6 continents, 5 of which are completely uninhabited and 1 of which sports several cities. Blessed with rich metal veins near the surface of the planet, Chorda's rest produces a variety of metals, many quite exotic or rare.  They are mostly self sufficient with large agricultural areas to feed their mine workers. They have not paid their tithe in 50 years,

Tomb

Built on the ruins of an ancient alien civilization, Tomb was subjected to an invasion by aliens (possibly ones originally from here) some 75 years ago. Large numbers of human mercenaries were shipped in by Rogue Traders and the aliens, outnumbered and outclassed, were rapidly defeated. Almost immediately the mercenaries then toppled the human government and seized control of the planet. Run as a military dictatorship, everything seemed fine. However, 40 years ago the tithes stopped flowing and communication was cut off.

Salvaging the Bounty

Many years ago an imperial navy light cruiser named The Bounty was lost while making the warp run through the Maw (the dangerous passage between te Calixis sector and the Koronus Expanse). About 10 years ago, the cruiser was discovered floating in the great maelstrom of wrecks known as the Battleground. One of interrogator Bobs agents put in an application of salvage and this was promptly swept up in the imperial bureacracy for some 7 years. Eventually the writ of salvage was granted. The holder of the writ may salvage The Bounty providing that the captain is the first member to set foot aboard the light cruiser. This appears to be some ancient naval custom.  The imperial navy would most likely pay for the salvage, or the salvager may keep anything he finds.  A professinal group of "wreckers", seasoned salvage men, with appropriate equipment will be required for this mission.

In accordance with the letter of the Writ of Salvage, Lord Captain Helsen was the first on board The Bounty. Showing his bravery he led his troops from the front through the ship to the bridge, finding many instances of dead crew who had appeared to have died from depressurisation. On reaching the bridge the companions were horrified to find the possessed body of th ships navigator sitting on the captains command throne. The dead captain lay at his feet, dead some 50 years, although from the wounds on his companions and the bullets holes and firearms damage all over, not dead without a fight.

The navigator had a sickly looking metal maggot stretched across his open warp eye and with this proceeded to raise a horde of zombies against the companions, after a brave fight the companions fled the bridge through the air vents, heading for engineering.  Enroute, as well as fighting their way through many zombies they encountered a half savage original crew member who managed to fill them in on the ships circumstances. This crewmen led them to engineering where they reanimated the ships machine spirit and convinced it to raise the gellar field, thus cutting the foul warp devie off from its source of power. Hijacking a maintenance pod the companions blew out the bridges window and entered the bridge firing, killing many zombies and taking apart the navigator, although not before he shattered several of Lord Captain Helsens ribs.

With the ship under control the companions secured the metal maggot device in a stasis chamber and sent across their salvagers.  Over the course of three weeks, the salvagers stripped the ship of as much as they could, leaving only the superstructure left. With holds full and spirits high the brave companions left for footfall, or at least tried. A pair of vile pirate vessels, obviously aware that the Thors Redemption was full of bounty (literally in fact) attacked the companions thinking to make a quick buck. Luckily they hadn't factored in the Redemptions mighty ram or its powerful batteries and the pirate vessels were defeated with one being destroyed and another defeated.

After a short week of repairs, both vessels set off for Footfall.
